delectable- baking over break part 2

guess what!?

after a long day of wrapping presents yesterday i was too tired to bake. so i made up for it today. with another batch of pretzel rolls (doubled) and a triple batch of thin, chewy ginger cookies.

tomorrow. shopping for a christmas outfit with sister at the mall. then, i'm thinking- strawberry thumbprints.

delicious - baking over break part 1

friday morning i woke up to a snow covered shaolin. i am glad to be home.

i've decided that over this break i am going to bake as much as possible. so on friday i made soft pretzel rolls. they were fantastic. i took the recipe from smitten kitchen and i highly recommend trying it if you are a pretzel fan. my batch hardly made it to saturday morning. i'll be making them again soon.

i wrapped a ton of presents today and it's almost 11pm right now but i feel like making ginger cookies. so, that might happen now. if not now, then tomorrow for sure.

happy first night of hanukkah.

done-ish?

i should, right now, be able to say... I'M DONE!!!! but i'm not. my papers are nearing final draft stages but they need editing before they can be printed. and the need reference pages and proper footnotes, not just the random words i threw in so i'd remember where i took things from. and there's my observation journal which needs doing.

i really wish that i didn't have to work at the libz computer lab tonight so that i could just stay in bed till tomorrow, but, i guess the cash for doing homework isn't bad.

i'm really cold in my room right now and but if i close the window the smidgen that it is open i know it'll get too warm in here... and i can't decide if it would be more productive right now, for me to work on my journal or to take a nap. right now, it feels like the nap might be inevitable. i'm also just feeling thrown off due to the existence of emotions.

so i'll leave it at this... i almost totally done.

tonight will be crazy crazy times and tomorrow, i will bake!

i can do it

3/4 done

i am three quarters (3/4) done with my conference work. well, lets say 5/8 because i recently found out that there is a section that i have to write for my descriptive review that i left out. so i am a little more than five eighths done with conference work now because today i finished my artist's books project on the letter press. i set a ton of type, an insane amount for such a tiny introductory project but it was great practice and i actually like my product a lot.

now all that is left is my emergent paper. it needs to be done by monday morning. otherwise i will fail at being a human anymore.

i have almost one page single spaced. i need 11 more. at least. tomorrow i am getting serious. i am looking forward to good things, faces, times.

one more giant task.

i can do it.

oh and here's a little photographic-peek at my letter press project... (5 hours of setting type and 8 hours of printing.)

da wall

last night bobby taught me about running track. he told me about how the track is 400 meters and the point right before the last 100 meters is called the wall. it's in the last 100 meters that they're really testing your endurance, it's those last 100 meters that make or break a win.

i have hit the proverbial conference week wall.

the goal is to be done with my visual arts in early childhood education paper by sunday. i know i can do it. i just need to get past this damn wall.

maybe tonight i can break through.

2/4 done.

i am half done with my conference work. just like half of that pie has been eaten, so have two of my four conference projects except instead of being eaten by people with their mouths, my conference papers were eaten by my brain and my fingers that typed them and the paper i will/have printed them on.

now i just have one more paper and my final artist's books project on the letter press and i am done for the semester.

what can i say. i've surprised myself. who knew i actually had it in me to finish 2 thirds of my written conference work a week before it is due? it will take a lot to get this final paper done, it's the roughest of them all. but i can do it.

i can do it i can do it i can do it.

i have completed one conference paper. one conference paper of mine is complete (mostly) and i feel fine.  i feel fine.

tomorrow i will finish another one. then i will have two conference papers complete. that is the plan. those are the goals.

i can do it.

i can do it.
