sick in the summer

being sick in the summer sucks. i've been in bed all day. and yesterday. and i mean, i guess the weather isn't SO great so i guess that it doesn't completely suck to just be in the house but i hate being sick. 

yesterday scott surprised me and came over to take care of me with L & B and an extremely high tolerance for the biotchy-ness i acquire when i'm not feeling well. I even made him watch gilmore girls dvds. i made sushi rice and ate that but only because i'm on a mean antibiotic for the spontaneous root canal i got on monday. i also brought my computer to the genius bar on monday and the geniuses gave me a new logic board. i don't really know what that means exactly but now my computer goes to sleep and wakes up when i want it to. 

tommy graduated from preschool on wednesday, that was pretty cute. i hung out with him and kayleigh and jim and jon wednesday afternoon and then i went to see sex and the city with neela. it was an emotional roller coaster. i loved it.

i only have like 9 days of not doing anything with my life left. then i start working 9 to 5 every week day teaching kids to make animated films.

now i'm going to continue watching food network in bed surrounded by tissues and orange juice. 

a testament to my nerdy-ness

last night i had a really weird dream where me and a whole bunch of other people who i feel like i knew in the dream but now i can't think of who they were were living in some kind of camp type place and there was someone in charge, i think it was one of my teachers from high school but i'm not sure and she decided to become like a dictator of our camp thing. and she took all of our money and replaced it with other money that was obviously strange and none of us knew what it was and there was one coin that said september on it and had like a horoscope thing on it and i also had one that said april and i think i gave it to eddie? like saying oh this must be for you cause you were born in april (but that isnt true eddie's birthday is in may but maybe it wasnt him, i dont know who it was) but then the dictator teacher lady started taking all of our possessions and hiding them away from us. and it was raining a lot. i think there was some other person telling her what to do and giving her the money but at some point she stopped knowing what to do and ran away and i asked some people sitting at a table on a beach what the money was called and they told me it was bugia (which means lie in italian). weird. but then after the dictator thing ended we were trying to get our things back and she had taken my computer and i was searching for it in this room. and it wasn't there, there were tons of mac books but none of them was my mbp and there were these 2 guys there trying to help but no one could help me. and then there was a part where there was this formal dinner thing and a group of rappers was walking in and with them was LL Cool J and i said to him. mister cool j can i ask you a question and then he told me to make an appointment with his secretary and i said that it wasn't that kind of question (huh?) and i asked him what he thought about the evil master lady taking all of our things because my computer was missing and i wanted it back. and he didn't answer me i don't think. but then my mom was with me and we were in a super market or something and she was talking to some lady about the dictator teacher and our missing stuff and i think there was a conversation about nuts? but everything was chaotic and blurry and i woke up. it was so weird. why was ll cool j in my dream? why did i subconsciously know that bugia means lie? WEIRD.

in the summer i watch children's television

today i woke up to drive mom to the ferry, then i went back to sleep. then i woke up to pick mom up from the ferry. my mom had an entire work day while i was asleep. except she only had one meeting today so it doesn't really count but still. 

yesterday i made blueberry muffins. 

i'm a really big fan of the disney channel and nickelodeon in the summer. i've been watching disney cartoons from 1-3 am every day. and tonight mom and i watched the naked brothers band movie on nick. those kids are really cute. and they write cute songs. also the two kids from hannah montana do a cover of if i didn't have you and it is adorable. okay, enough.

on tuesday scott and i met up with seth at amnh for lunch and then we went to see the new exhibits... lizards, the horse and the sea monsters imax show. the horse was super boring except for the really cool old fire engine that looked JUST LIKE willy wonka's machine that runs on soda pop. so i made scott take a picture, it came out blurry because pictures aren't allowed in special exhibits so i made him take it with out the flash.

on wednesday we went to the dave matthews band concert in camden. it was scott's birthday present and his first concert ever. it was rainy and it was fun anyway. dave matthews fans are crazy. camden nj is sketchy. next time scott and i go to a concert i hope that it is in ny. it was fun eating pancakes on the road and stopping at rest stops it was almost like a road trip except it was only like 3 hours of driving. here's scott eating a pancake and driving in the rain.

tomorrow we're working at the museum for a sleepover. it's a really good group this weekend so it should be fun. L & B after and then amanda's zoo birthday party on sunday.

3pm and kittens

i'm in my bedroom at home. 

my parents both think i am capable of sleeping till 3pm. i guess i could be capable of that if i went to sleep late enough and if i didn't have to wake up to go to the bathroom, but usually i don't sleep that late. i do stay in my room though. because it's cozy and quiet and no one thinks it odd for me to not exit my room before 3. i'm taking advantage of this freedom right now because in 5ish weeks i will not have this luxury any longer as i will be interning from 9 till 4 every week day.

yesterday mom and i were talking about adopting a new kitten. henry is getting old and he hasn't ever been the same since tucker died almost 3 years ago and i think he could use a new brother to train in his image. henry gets along well with other cats so that wouldn't be a problem. i just don't want to deal with all of the annoying destructive things that kittens do like tear apart screen doors and couches. tucker was SO destructive. i don't want to deal with all of these kitten problems again... but i do want a kitten. i think mom and i agree that we'd like an orange tabby the most. one that looks like this guy...

that's oliver. he lives on the block. henry hangs out with him sometimes. this picture is almost a year old, so ollie is much bigger now but still so handsome, like thomas o'mally in the aristocats, i want a handsome cat. henry is handsome too, even though he's old and he lost a couple of teeth so his tongue sticks out of his mouth a little... here's a picture of him torturing scott on friday.

if it is not clear, henry is laying on scott's head. scott is allergic to henry. way to go henry cat.

now it really is almost 3 and i want brunch. i also have to update my computer. ciao.

now it's june

today mom and i chilled. 

we spent a bunch of hours in the yard and went to christmas tree shop and target for yard decor. i really wanted us to get a bench to put in the back near the gate so we found one in target on sale. the yard looks super cute and i'm really excited to have friends over now. here's a picture of me enjoying the amazing sun and warmth on the deck earlier this week.

i just finished watching second hand lions... good movie. it's a really cute story. scott and i have to watch it together some day. 

yesterday scott and i went with mom to grandma's house, all of the kids were there so it was wonderful. we had popsicles and fudgesicles here's a picture of jimmy jam enjoying his first ever fudgesicle.

and later, after grandma's scott and i drove to brooklyn for L&B aka glorious delicious happiness. mmmmmmmm, here's a picture of scott cutting our fifth and final square in half so we could share it. i seriously think i could have just sat there and continued to eat pizza squares all night.

oh ya and on thursday there was eddie's bbq birthday bash! it was baller. completely. the cake was a total hit. here is a photo of eddie cutting the cake and a bunch of other people looking on in awe of it's amazingness. 

this week i hope to see ravana and the sex and the city movie and perhaps mikey. on wednesday scott and i are going to see dave matthews for his birthday. and on saturday we have a sleepover at the museum. also i'm in the process of planning lexi's welcome home party complete with mind-blowing cupcakes by the sami and eddie bake shop. madd love <3
